Your Physical Pain May Be Actually Due to Emotional Blockages

Did you know that many of the physical pain that you may be currently experiencing  – such as lower back pain, shoulder pain, headaches, etc – may actually be coming from your emotional blockages. When you suppress your negative emotions instead of expressing them, the energy can get go inside the tissues of your body.

When you go to the doctor, they may run the tests and finding nothing wrong with your heart or kidneys, and they may tell you “its all in your head.” But you know you are feeling real headaches or real digestive distress. Then its time to look into your emotional aspect to find the cause of pain.

Science is finding the connection between the mind and the physical body. A new study published in Psychology Today explored how emotional trauma can be just as responsible for chronic pain as it is physical injury. According to Dr. Susanne Babbel, “Chronic pain is often accompanied by feelings of hopelessness, depression, and anxiety.” She goes on to say how physical pain “functions to warn a person that there is still emotional work to be done, and it can also be a sign of unresolved trauma in the nervous system.” This is exactly what Ancient Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda have been saying for centuries. Examples of physical pain coming from emotional blockages include pain in your shoulders which indicate you are carrying more responsibilities that you can handle. Pain in your upper back indicate you are feeling lack of emotional support. You may feel unloved or you may be holding back your love from someone. Pain in your lower back indicate worries regarding finances. Perhaps you have a fear of money, or fear not having enough. Or maybe you fear material loss. If you have pain in your knees, it indicates you are not being flexible enough and not flowing with life. When your knees are healthy, they bend easily. If not, they are rigid and painful. If you are a rigid, non-bending person, your knees will also be rigid like that. Learn to ease up a bit and be humble. At HijamaEnergetics, we help you to find out what emotional causes may be behind your physical ailments, and help you to resolve it. When you clear up the emotional blockages, the physical pain also loosens up and goes away.

Pain in your hips indicate you fear inter-personal relationships, and that can make you hold energy in your hips. This feeling can stem from fear of not being liked by other people. Pain in your feet indicate you need to tread a different path, try something new. Pain in your hand indicates your need to reach out and connect with others.

A great book that touches on this subject of mind-body pain is “Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma,” written by Peter A. Levine.  Ancient practices like Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine have been aware of how the state of our mind affects our body for centuries
